If you can’t find the category you’re looking for from the drop-down menu, you can click on the ‘Suggest A New Category’ option. We’re still playing around with different categories and our list is constantly evolving. In the meantime, you can also use your own customised tags to categorise a topic that doesn’t fit into our list.
How can I subscribe to a certain category or tag?
Click on the category or tag in question. This will take you to the category or tag homepage, where you can click ‘subscribe’ in the top right-hand corner of the page. You can also choose which categories and tags to follow in your profile settings.
Can I use 2 or more tags or categories at once?
You can. Crowdcallr encourages multi-disciplinary questions that span different tags and categories.
What’s the difference between categories and tags?
Categories are a list of our own predefined categorisations of scientific fields. This is a generic and broad list and will became increasingly inclusive as Crowdcallr grows.
Tags add detail to customise topics with specific keywords related to the question in a category.
A category would be "Physics" while the tags could be "Nuclear" or "Particle".
Can you reopen a question that is closed or resolved?
Questions that are closed have been closed for a reason; probably because they’re not in line with our terms and conditions and cannot be reopened. Questions that are resolved can be reopened if the original question-asker wishes to reopen them.
When is a question resolved?
A question is resolved when the original question asker has marked it as ‘resolved’. The original question asker may reopen the question if they so wish.
When is a question closed?
A question is closed by moderators if it does not meet our ethical requirements or does not comply with our terms and conditions.

If I know the answer to a question but don’t have expertise in the field, should I answer it?
